MAKE Southwest is one of the UK’s most respected organisations dedicated to contemporary craft and design. Based in the historic Riverside Mill in Bovey Tracey on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon, it houses three exhibition galleries staging over 20 exhibitions a year, alongside a gallery shop selling exclusively the work of its members.
Founded in 1955 as the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, the organisation has championed the best in craft for over 70 years, supporting makers, educating communities and connecting the public with the work of some of the finest craftspeople in the country. It is also a registered charity, with profits from its trading activity supporting its educational programme including workshops, school projects and craft training.
I am a full member of MAKE Southwest and have a selection of my sculptural turned vessels available in their gallery shop. If you are in Devon, it is well worth a visit. You can find out more at makesouthwest.org.uk
