Ash Bowl with Spalting

£185

Availability: In stock

Turned from green Ash felled locally due to Ash Dieback, this bowl has been once-turned and allowed to dry naturally. As it settled, the form developed a gentle irregularity that adds to its individuality and quiet charm.

The pale wood is softly accented by dark, fine spalting lines that run through the grain — organic and unique markings that give the piece depth and visual interest. The bowl has a smooth, even rim and a fine, delicate wall; when held to the light, a soft glow reveals the subtle translucency of the thinly turned wood.

Finished with a food-safe oil, this bowl is designed for display and is one of a pair — a nested bowl made from the same piece of wood was turned alongside it.

Approx size:
Diameter: 19 cm

Laser-engraved with maker’s mark on the base.

A companion piece, turned from the same section of Ash, is also available: a shallower bowl formed using a bowl-saver to nest the two forms. View the companion bowl →
