Live Edge Ash Bowl with Knot Detail

Turned from green Ash felled locally due to Ash Dieback, this bowl has been once-turned and allowed to dry naturally. As a result, it has gently warped into a subtle oval shape — a quiet nod to the living nature of the material.

The pale wood is full of character, featuring a dramatic knot at the base where some of the wood has come away, leaving a narrow opening that runs through the form. There is a natural split in the rim which has been carefully glued and sealed. A soft white-pigmented Osmo oil finish highlights the live edge and allows the pale tones to remain cool and modern, with some pigment settling visibly into the knot and rim.

Despite its sculptural irregularities, the bowl has a clean, flowing line and a grounded presence. It’s a characterful piece with a modern rustic feel — ideal for display.
