Fine-Walled Shallow Ash Bowl

Turned from the same piece of green Ash as it’s deeper companion bowl, this piece was created using a bowl-saver to nest the forms. As it dried, the bowl gently shifted, developing a subtly irregular shape that adds to its natural, sculptural character.

The pale wood features attractive grain with areas of darker spalting that run delicately through the surface. The thin wall allows light to pass through when held up, revealing the fine quality of the turning and the quiet beauty of the wood itself.

Finished with a food-safe oil, this bowl is designed for display and works beautifully on its own or as part of a set with its taller, nested counterpart.
