This small vessel is turned from spalted Ash sourced from Westonbirt Arboretum, felled due to Ash Dieback. The pale wood is dramatically marked with deep, dark spalting that creates striking organic patterns across the surface. Areas of natural dimpling add quiet texture, a result of the wood’s shifting character during its decay and transformation.
The form is simple and rustic, shaped more like a cup than a bowl, with a slightly uneven rim that reflects the wildness of the wood. Its surface has been finished smooth with Osmo Top Oil, highlighting the intricate grain while offering a soft, tactile feel.
Ideal as a display piece or for holding dried flowers. (Not suitable for water or liquids.)
