Sculptural Oak Burr Vessel with Live Edge II
Also turned from the same extraordinary Oak Burr sourced at Westonbirt Arboretum, this vessel is the larger of the set — its siblings currently on display at MAKE Southwest. Where the wood has been allowed to lead, the form has followed.
The retained live edge traces the natural contour of the burr, giving the piece an organic, unhurried silhouette. Dense, swirling grain shifts across the surface in waves of colour and tone — no two angles read quite the same. It’s a piece that rewards a slow look.
Finished with natural Auro oil, enhancing the warmth and depth of the burr without masking its texture. A substantial, characterful display piece.
Approx size: Height: 24 cm Width: 20 cm
Laser-engraved with maker’s mark on the base.
Pieces may have tool marks, warps, cracks or irregularities - they’re all part of the story!
