Sculptural Oak Burr Vessel with Live Edge
£850
Turned from an Oak Burr sourced at Westonbirt Arboretum — felled naturally at the end of its life — this vessel is one of a set of three pieces made from the same remarkable piece of wood. The other two are currently on display at MAKE Southwest.
The burr delivers an extraordinary depth of character: rich colour variation, dense swirling grain, and surface patterning that no amount of design could replicate. A sweeping live edge flows into a natural hole in the side of the form, giving the piece a bold sculptural presence that is as much about negative space as it is about the wood itself.
Finished with natural Auro oil, which enhances the warmth and complexity of the grain while keeping the piece grounded and tactile. A confident, one-of-a-kind display piece.
Approx size: Height: 23 cm Width: 15 cm
Laser-engraved with maker’s mark on the base.
